BIOGRAPHY
I have been playing since grade school. Like many musicians I gained an interest in music in school chorus, started piano lessons and moved on to other instruments: guitar in high school and flute just before attending college. I started playing alto and tenor sax in The Runaway Express, but switched to wind synth a few years later. I also continued my vocal work with various bands: especially 3 and 4 part harmonies with The Runaway Express and Burnt Lips.

I have played a variety of music: Classical, Folk, Bluegrass (bluegrass flute ... what a concept), Celtic, Country Western, Jazz, Rock, Funk and Rhythm and Blues. They are all fun to play.

R & B and funk have really given me the opportunity to expand the wind synth's capabilities for horn and string sections; both of which figure prominently in those two genres.

Wind Synth has given me an avenue to do solo work emulating saxes, clarinets, and other wind instruments and do section work using horn sections, string sections, and choral sections.

The flute is still fun especially doing rock (Tull) stylings.

I list horn charts as something I do. If you want horns players to play the same notes at the same time without hours of practice you need charts. To me, it is very satisfying to spend 3 or 4 hours working on a piece with notation software and coming up with a chart that is precise and correct.
Oh well ... I've pretty much retired from the music scene with age and the pandemic. Thought I would just update this site with some of the stuff I'm working on. I've added a CG page that will link to my little projects on youtube.
